          Elvis Pearl Harbour Concert

          Elvis Pearl Harbour Concert

SUCH A NIGHT IN PEARL HARBOR
The CD is re-mastered for the first time ever, presenting Elvis’ last concert in March, 1961, before returning to the stage 8 years later!

This documents Elvis’ benefit concert recorded at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, to aid of the USS Arizona Memorial Fund, for the service men who died there during the Japanese attack in 1941.

Listen here to Elvis at his best! The obvious clarity of Elvis’ enjoyment is apparent as he is once again on stage, performing just his 3rd show since 1957. With Elvis unleashed and like a livewire, he spontaneously delivers an extraordinary musical experience, which is hailed as one of the most thrilling and exciting of any Presley show ever!

Elvis performs 15 songs and sings every one as if it were the first time he had ever presented them to an audience. This includes many #1 hits and includes classics that were never performed previously or again such as ‘A Fool Such As I’, ‘I Need Your Love Tonight’, ‘Such A Night’ and more.

Also included for the first time ever, is the 30 minute radio broadcast recorded in Hawaii before Elvis’ arrival. It promoted the concert for the memorial fund, playing selected tracks from Elvis’ Christmas and ‘His Hand in Mine’ album, released at that time.

As a bonus, the CD is accompanied by a 100 page book that contains many rare and unreleased photographs with extensive and informative linear notes detailing Elvis’ arrival and performance

            Filming Girl Happy

Of all the movies I’ve done, the one people keep asking me about is GIRL HAPPY! The movie is almost 50 years old, but interest in Elvis Presley is still going strong. Over the years, hundreds if not thousand of fans have asked me, “What was it like working with Elvis Presley?” Well, I finally decided to put it all down on paper. If you’re interested, get FILMING GIRL HAPPY – Behind The Scenes with ELVIS. It’s got lots of great Elvis stories, including the time Elvis stuck his tongue in my ear, plus deleted scenes, the original ending, and tons of great candid photos.

            The Rebel & the King
The Rebel & The King is a celebratory, first person account written by Academy Award nominated actor, Nick Adams, about his close friendship with Elvis Presley, during their whirlwind eight days in Memphis when Presley returned to Tupelo for his Homecoming Concert in 1956. Posthumously published by Nick Adams’ daughter, Allyson Adams, after she discovered the unedited manuscript in a box of her father’s memorabilia. The book includes facsimile of original text, edited version, 15 photos (some never before seen), and foreword by Allyson Adams. Elvis Presley had just exploded on the American scene and was filming his first movie, Love Me Tender, when he introduced himself to Nick Adams on the backlot of 20th Century Fox. Nick was a struggling actor, part of the Rebel Without A Cause gang and showed Elvis the town, introducing him to Natalie Wood. Nick was infamous for writing about his famous friends, including James Dean, and he and Elvis became fast friends. “I would rather live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb. And that was the first thing that came to my mind when I sat down to write this story about Elvis.” Nick Adams, 1956

                Elvis The Classic Christmas Album

                The Classic Christmas Album

Numerous seasonal Elvis Presley albums have appeared over the years, some including the entirety of his holiday recordings (1994’s If Every Day Was Like Christmas, for one), so chances are most hardcoreElvis fans have his Christmas songs somewhere in their collection. But for those who don’t, his 2012 entry into Legacy’s The Classic Christmas Album series is indeed a good buy. Weighing in at 17 tracks, this is a generous collection containing almost every holiday tune Elvis cut. He had 20 master takes of seasonal tunes and there are 15 here, along with two newly created duets with Carrie Underwood (“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”) and Martina McBride (“Blue Christmas”). These two new cuts are bound to irk some purists, but there are plenty of collections that will satisfy their needs. For most listeners, this is an enjoyable dose of holiday cheer.
